Has anyone tried to order a LE with the 1.75 that is available on the SE?

My dealer is trying to find out, but no answer yet.

I already have a 2.25 from my Nytro, so I don't want another one that comes with the LE. But I would like the LE model with the better shocks. I think I want the 1.75 Backcountry for trail riding in the U.P. Like the 2 sleds I have already with the Backcountry tracks.

And then when I go out west I could use my 2.25 or sell it and jump up to the new 153x 3.2 track.
If anyone has any information on this possibility let me know.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for the response,
it just seems like since they will be installing the 1.75 on the se, that they would be able to install it on a LE?
If they would give you a full credit for the take-off track, that would be one thing, but my dealer said they would only allow you $200 for the take off, and then the replacement would be in the $650 range!

I would think when you order a sled this early that they could put the shorter track under it.
Especially since they will be using it on the B-TX anyway.

You would think if you can pick a color, that you could pick a track?

The factory just builds so many of each model and then ships them to dealers. I highly doubt they have a way of tracking 1 special sled just for one person in the world. That is kind of like asking Kraft to make you your own box of Mac and Cheese with a different label. I'm just sayin...

Yeah I touched upon this subject with dealer when I ordered my sled although different then yours (LTX-LE), but one would think they would allow for different tracks during build, my dealer said that it had been brought to Yamaha's attention, so we aren't the only ones asking!! And as far as swapping tracks, he is not interested.
Way too any take offs hanging around I was told!

Oh well, I did try cause an ice ripper type was my intent.

AXR, we do it every day in the automobile industry. Buy a car at your dealer and order it the way you like. Order is tracked by VIN and build sheet. Lists options and dealer who will be taking delivery. No reason it couldn't be done at the TRF factory. I too would like the better shocks without the taller lug. Just have to figure out how much extra it will cost me to do that.

Cut the track down. Be cheapest option. I didn't think you bought first year sleds.

Some dealers will simply swap it for you if you cover the labor. They would have to have a market for the take-off though. The ones that do a lot of off-trail sleds do this all the time. If you are a really good customer (at least 1 sled a year) they will generally do it for free.

Unless you spend most of the time on the trail, I would just run the 2.25 and cut it down if you don't like it. The extra lug will be better off-trail.

Cutting it down would probably be the cheapest? But who wants to do that if you don't have too.
I agree with Dave, other companies let you order just what you want all the time.
Car companies, Semi-truck companies, Farm equipment companies, etc. etc.
Maybe snowmobile companies should come around and do the same, at least on the early order snow check machines that they know are already sold!!
Think about this, we have the option of the 1.25 or 1.75 track on the Apex and Vectors?

Just Saying!!

My dealer has done the track swap for me a couple of times in the past, but that was going from a short lug ( which would be easy for him to resell) to the 1.75 backcountry track.
In this case the 153 x 2.25 would be a very hard track for him to sell in my area.
Both because of length and lug height.

Maybe I should wait a year to buy this sled and see if maybe they come around and let us have the 2 track option next year?

I'm not saying I don't agree with you, but no other options at this point.

Hey Maxdlx, 2 97 XTC's, an 02 Viper, an 06 Attak, and an 11 Apex XTX all qualify me as that special breed of idiot, the first year buyer lol.. Most likely I'm waiting for the 50th Anniversary, BUT, you never know.

Hey Dave, if you are a special breed of idiot,

well I can say you are one of the greatest special breeds of idiots I know.

And I'm proud to have you as one of my idiotic Friends!! LOL
