Anyone using Woodys angled backer plates and 144 Mega Bites?

I am thinking of trying double and single 144 Mega Bites 1.325" down the center pattern of Woody's and using there 7 degree angled backer plate. Does anyone have this setup on there sled our the angled backers? If so what are your thoughts.

I'm not sure but I believe the Angled Backers can cause some damage to the shocks, because they don't sit flush in the track.

My son has that set up on his GT and no problems yet. Almost 1000 miles. Just make sure the double backers are installed good and tight. The ones that I have seen with damage were a result of the nuts not being tightened enough.

Just finished an 800 mile ride and I am running 144 with the angled backers in a GT and i am not seeing any problems. if your going with the 1.325 length, get the big nuts from woody's, otherwise you will bend studs. Quite a few of mine are now basically perpendicular to the track, instead of angled at the 7 deg. a few are bent a bit further.

Personally, I don't see the advantage of angled backers for a trail riding application. Can someone enlighten me? In fact, at one time I thought Woody's tech people weren't recommending them for trail riding. studdog

There is a disadvantage for stopping, but they work great for acceleration.

I used them for 2 seasons and dont recommend them for trail riding. They cause the track undo stress and in my opinion they are slower. I did
not use them on new GT.

I just installed a new track on my turbo and did not use them. I have found that it does not hook up as good as the angled backers I had on my last track. IMO

I used that combination on last years rx-1 and pulled them out and put them in the rtx 1500mls last year 400 so far did use tall alum. nuts. I haven't lost bent or had any damage on either sled I did go over after 200mls and retorqe. Very seldom get beat out of the hole on hard pack.
