Hey all, I am wanting to extend my Apex to 136" tipped but I don't see a lot of info on people who have done a tipped rail extension for a 136. Reason being is I don't want to loose all of my 121 cornering ability. We ride really aggressive but I want to be able to hook a little better with the power I am putting out. Any pics and info of what you did would be helpful before I dig into this machine this summer. Thanks

I can't say that I have seen rails tipped until you hit 144". It would have to be some custom rails, or one-offs. Good luck in your search. But I think you are going to get plenty of 136/137 riders chiming in claiming they can rail their extended sled like a 121"

Do yourself a favor and get a complete skid from an Attak or LTX. Much easier than dicking around with rail extensions & you know the geometry will be correct.

Obviously you'll still have to get a tunnel extension.

will it bolt right in and the front angle be correct?

Yes. I’ve done both 121-136 extensions, and full skid swaps, the mounting points for the Mono skids are exactly the same. The only difference is the placement of the upper carrier wheels, the 136 skid has them set back a ways.

I've extended my sled to a 136 as well. With over 3k on extension and over 11k on sled. I have no issues keeping up or leading. It was a change at first but was shortly forgotten about. Id also recommend having your shocks rebuilt at the time of swap and add 4th wheel if you haven't already. I went with a tracks usa kit at the time they had best price with extension and track combination. I believe the rails they included are Hartman the kit also included the tunnel extension too. It was very straightforward I also choose to go with the new style snow flap as well at time of install.

Good luck and keep up posted

Do you know what the measurement is for the relocation of the carrier wheels?

21” c to c do yourself a huge favor&dont dick around with extensions or hybrids ask me how I know, buy a true 136& use the newer apex ,vector single wheel mount like the 2012 vector ltx for the rear upper carrier wheels/mounts

So I should just get a whole newer 136” ltx suspension and be good to go other than relocate the carrier wheels? The new carriers are 21” from the current ones are? Thanks for the help.

Yes I wouldn’t do it any other way,if you look at the parts pictures of your sled& the apex ltx you will see the differences, you will need 2 rear mtg brackets #30,31 that rivet in place& will line right up(usually avail good used or about$100 new for the pair, the 136 track, rear suspension assy,2 rear idler wheels& wheel standoffs(get new or used from 2012,2013 vector ltx as it’s a simpler design, the upper drive gear in the chain case was 1 tooth difference between a 121&136,I did not change gearing& most other people didn’t& it works fine with the 121 gears as you have plenty of hp/torque to run the 121 gearing.i will send you various pics of what’s needed
