hey guys went out to start my 06 rtx the other day and all i got was one click and alittle engine symbol with the yellow warning light on the gage, any ideas on what that means, by the way battery was charged so not a dead battery, thanks for the replies

This happened to me as well. I had the charger on 2 amp charge for 2 1/2 hours but still only a click and nothing. i then put the charger on jump start and waited 10 seconds or so and it started to crank but no fire. Replaced battery and all is good now starts qiuck. My battery was dead so no amount of charging would help. Dont know if this is your problem but sounds similar.

Mine was starter relay and I kept turning the key for about 20 times and it fired up. It still does it today and I'm waiting for my relay to arrive to me by mail. Just keep turning the key and see if it catches.

Shivesy, Was your sled showing any codes when this happened to your sled? I have the exact situation going on now and the codes 33,34 and 36 are flashing. I have a strong feeling (from what I have been reading) that its the starter relay for me as well. My sled sat outside all night (below zero temps) and wouldnt start in the morning. Just turns over but no start. Ran like a top all weekend before Sunday morning.

I had the starter relay frozen this past weekend, just a click and the yellow warning light and engine symbol - no codes.

If it's turning over, then it's not the starter relay, though it could be the fuel pump relay. Do you hear the pump start up when you first turn on the ignition?

Yes I hear the pump start. Everything sounds normal when I turn the key but when I go to start it...it just cranks away without starting.

Same thing happened to me, but I have an 07. At first the fuel pump didnt cycle, then after a few key cycles the pump kicked on, then I go to start it, nothing, yellow symbol, but no codes. I cycled the key a few times, then it started to turn over, but didnt catch. Held it for 5 seconds, turned over but no catch. Did that for a few times, then gave it some throttle, finally caught and ran great.

The next day, fuel pump turned on, but engine didnt turn over, symbol but no codes. Left the key in the "ON" position for a min. cranked it up, and it ran... :o|

Brand new battery too

I had the same thing happen to me today. I turned it over and just got a click, and the yellow light. i tried about 10 times and then it started to turn over and then started. After that it was fine for the rest of the day.

I'l be darned if this same thing didn't happen to me Monday morning, rode all day Saturday in sub-zero temps, parked it on the truck. Went to start it to back it off the truck Monday am (temps near 24f) and no start, I didn't see any codes, just the yellow light with a little motor image, hit the key a few times and she finaly fired up.
This is the first time i've ever had any issue!! I hope it is a one time thing!

Mines been doing it for a week now , sucks really !
First time it happened thought battery was dead and I had to have a buddy jump me with his cat , A shame ill never live down im sure .
Battery seems to have plenty of juice just intermittently wont crank sometimes . Fuel pump runs , dash lights up everything looks normal but all i get is a click , no crank . hoping its just that relay .

Had the same problem for the past 2 weeks, warning light with motor icon and no codes. The problem is the starter motor. The connections from the commutator to the armature winding was breaking appart. The connections between them are crimped insted of being welded. And the worst part of it is my warranty ended last month. And the price of the starter motor is $550.00 cdn. CRAZY!!!!! :o|

Salut Marc,
The shaft was loose in the armature, but two of the commutator segments is broken. Kimpex has one for half the price and my dealer is gona try to claim-it.
By the way, do you still have your S/C Apex...

CIAO

Was riding today & stopped to talk to a couple of guys. Went to start it up & OH NO- nothing. Had been running fine, only 30 km (20 miles) into the day. Engine symbol, yellow light & Code 11. On line now to find out what that really means. I know Code 11 is the Cylinder Indentification Sensor, but what that really means & what to look for is what I need to know.
