I see these was a thread a while back on some of you who used these. Just wondering how they have been. I am on my second set of y-pipes. I am pondering either new OEM version or the stainless ones offered aftemarket, although arent the new OEM version now stainless to? My gaskets weathered the strom but the y pipes broke at flanges.
Any help? Going on loing trip in 10 days so time is of the essences !!!
thanks
Jim

You didn't post a link to them, or any info as to who makes them?

I put them on at the beginning of the season and the exhaust started leaking again after 500 miles. I am going to tear the sled down this weekend and will post back with what I find.

I replied to previous post in regard to these. I installed them on my Attak last year in between rides. Did not have to pull pipes or weld, easy install. So far, so good. I have about 800-1000 miles on them with no problems. Good fix especially in season with a time factor between weekend riding. If it had been at the end of the season, probably would have installed new pipes.

I will certainly post what I find... it won't be until Sunday though.
I did try to install the kit without pulling the y-pipes out as dmaxx suggested, but cutting the old flanges off was a total b**ch using a cutoff wheel on an air angle die grinder because the titanium is such a hard metal. I ended up getting frustrated and pulled them out and cut them off on a chop saw. I did have to heat the new flanges up with a torch to expand them enough to slip over the pipes.
Overall I was impressed with the quality of the kit and I am really hoping that the leak is due to something stupid like a loose doughnut clamp!

I was able to cut the old flange off, took a little doing but done. Then I sanded/filed the old pipe and slipped the new flange over. They are very tight. Had to tap them on. Make sure everything is even so it lines up to the flex pipe, I used orange permatex also to help seal them. Overall, I was impresses and it did save a lot of time by the time ordered them form ebay and installed, I was riding the following weekend. If I had found pipes and ordered them, I doubt I would have had them by the weekend let alone had them installed. That was a big factor for me, did not miss a ride.

So if I decide to replace the y pipes, are the new OEM versions stainless? I know the originals were titanium.

Finished install last night with these flanges, it's a pretty nice tight fit, I don't see any reason why they would not be the answer versus buying new y pipes. It was easier second time around to drill out the rivets holder the hanger bracket, the rivets were loose anyways.
I did used some Permatex muffler when I slid flanges over y pipes, I also put pipes in freezer for hour prior.
We'll see how they work, doing a 2 night trip to Ashland WI next weekend
Stay tuned

Perhaps it is time to begin production on these?... built em back in 2005 along with a header. Obviously they were designed to eliminate the donut... though I did build copper donuts for a brief period back in 09 or 10... these could be a better solution. As one can see, these have been well tested.
