Apex gt 2006

Hi everyone,

I have a 2006 apex gt. bought last year ran great. This year went out 2 times. 3rd time barley started. Sputtered finely started. I took it for a 70km run. ran great. Next day wont start. backfired and sputtered.

Plugs are new. I changed anyway to new ones tested spark lots of spark. plugs were soaked in gas all 4.

No codes or engine lights are on. pump starts when turned on. Low on fuel but 4-5 liters is plenty to start up.

Yamaha said fuel relay. I say maybe ground wire. My friends think water in fuel or crank position sensor?

Any help would be great.

thanks!!

start with simple. drain that gas and put fresh into it. i do know that my 11 apex will not start cold without at least 3 gallons in the tank. you only have about a gallon in there.

I took out the older gas. Only 7 days old. Put seafoam in and squirted some in the intake. It turned over than started. Thanks for the advice. Hope she starts up tomorrow. That will tell me she's good to go.

I always run a bottle of MedRX by Yamaha in the first tank of the season. The stuff works awesome and it cleans up the deposits in the motor from sitting all summer. One of my Yamaha mechanic friends swears by the stuff. Too many stories to tell related to this subject.
