I just replaces my rear shock on my GT, 3rd ride after replacing the shock and I have no rebound click on the shock. Rebounds like a pogo stick. I'm doing the Pioneer rebuild on it. My question is why doesn't an aftermarket company produce a kit that would put the wire into a braded wire casing from the shock to the inside of the cowling. I will attempt to do this myself this summer when I go to the 128 skid and track. I'll send pics when it's done. If anyone has tried this or is attempting to do it please let me know. I think there's a lot of GT owners waiting for this.
No rebound clicks is normally caused by lost charge due to a piston shaft seal failure.
Get the shock absorber serviced and make sure that you get the sealhead replaced with the updated version (Ohlins part number 5129-12).
I do not know about the stock wiring on the Apex GT, but this is the way Ohlins aftermarket shocks are installed.
I installen mine like this and I have never had a problem during 6000 kilometers.
Alatalo, this is how I have my wiring set up right now. I don't have a wiring problem yet but I did with the last shock. But I've read on the forum that the sleds you get have a different setting on the Ohlins shock that are holding up better than ours. I think Yamaha miss the boat on testing these sleds bu having these 145lbs guys doing the testing. Get real life guys who buy the $12,000.00 sleds do the testing on the suspension. We have to spend another $1000.00 to make them ride properly. ei: sway bar, fat boy spring, carbides, bushings, ski, and recalibrations on the shocks. I love the Yamy sled but they need to do some more real life testing with us.
