Hi,
I need advice on troubleshooting.
The engine starts and runs when the stock map sensor is disconnected. With the sensor connected, it floods and stops.
Does anyone have any tips as to what the error could be?

Thanks in advance!

When the stock sensor is disconnected, I think the ECU goes into a default base "limp" program that ignored MAP input that is probably allowing the engine to run semi-correctly. If when you hook it back up it floods, that is an indicator the MAP signal is funky and fooling the ECU into thinking its under a load so it alters the ignition timing and fueling to match. The fact that it changes when you plug and unplug it tells you it's NOT a harness or connector terminal issue. It's either a failed MAP sensor or the vacuum sense lines to the MAP from the throttle bodies is unhooked, kinked, or has a hole worn (or chewed) through it.
The BARO sensor down on the ECU bracket is the same sensor part number. To troubleshoot you could swap this sensor for the MAP sensor to see if it follows the sensor or acts the same way. Then you will know which direction to go down, either bad sensor or bad signal line...

If cam timing is out a tooth, could that be a cause?

It wouldn't start good and wouldn't run better just by unplugging the MAP sensor, if that's really what is transpiring.
