I am considering installing the Apex mountain skis on my 2007 Attak. A couple of questions. Are they an exact fit, are the carbide mounting holes the same, and is there improved deep snow performance with the same trail performance.
I have the stock skis and installed the Stud boy deuce runners. The darting is eliminated and the trail performance is good however the front sinks like crazy in the powder.

hey, I have a 2007 attak also, I had the skis installed as soon as I bought the sled.. so I never really got to try the stock skis have them in a box. But yah the powder skis work great on my attak they keep the front up pretty well in the deep stuff. I dont really know about bolt hole location and if the runners will line up. but there is lots of knowledge on here so Im sure ull get your answer.
and i think its a wise choice to through them on. IMO

There are some spacers your parts guy will have to look up that go on each side of the spindle and the bolt going thru is longer I believe. But generally speaking they are a direct bolt on. Good Luck.

I'm also going with the mountain ski on my LTX GT this year. Scott Bergstrom advised me that his customers have had good results with them with Bergstroms Triple Points and Ski savers. My dealer thru them in for free. Last year I ran Slydogs trail ski with good results.
I had the Mountain skis installed when I bought my 2007 Attak in Feb.. The powder performance was good, but darted like crazy on the packed snow. With the mountain skis on powder my problem is that the rear end sinks like crazy. I just received my Hartman 144" kit with a 2" challenger track. I start that mod this week. That should solve the rear tanking problem, but I'm wondering what I need to do to stop the darting.

Tal,
I put a set of Stud Boy deuce runners on the stock skis plus adjusted the toe out and the darting was all but eliminated. Dramatic improvement on groomed/packed trails. I set the toe out to 1/4 inch. Someone may have the maintenance manual to verify as I was told by the dealer the spec was between 0 and 1/2 inch toe out. I have seen several posts and spoke to many people who discovered the skis were actually toe-in from the factory.
On previous machines the same thing: dual carbides plus adjust the toe out and the same improved results.
I am hoping the mountain skis will give the same trail performance plus improvements in powder.
