There's a lot of talk about various aftermarket ski's out there, but not much on switching to Yamaha mountain ski's.
The few references out there are good, and a guy I know put them on last year and loves them.
They are a lot cheaper and you can just switch your existing carbides over. Isn't it basically the same ski, just wider?
So I'm wondering if there is a problem and why so few seem to be making that switch.
As well, any more news or pictures on the new MT9 skis?

I have em on my 07 Attak and love em. I put dooly carbides on for the trail. No darting and great floatation. Nice to see another Saskatchewan boy on here!!

Hey Sask Attak, thanks for the reply. Good to see antoher Sask guy as well.
That's kinda the same response I've got from everyone I know who has them. I have dualies on my stockers and I don't have much darting, but I need floatation.
Which dealership do you use?

I bought my sled from Nipawin Chrysler Yamaha, but now I live in Elrose, so I go to Sno-Pro sports in Rosetown. They are great to deal with. Greg is the guy you wanna talk to.

I love the mountain skis on my Attak. They float great carve very well and with the ski shim mod and the Stud Boy Shaper bars they don't dart and they handle great.

Thanks tryanAttak. If I get the mountain skis, why do I need to do the shim mod? Don't they just bolt on?
What exactly does the shim do?

Shimming raises the front of the ski so the ski pressure is shifted to the rear of the ski. Helps prevent darting. Here is the link.

Thanks for the replies. The new skis arrived today. Of course I missed the set that was for sale here in the classifieds last week.
Now I just need snow.

How much longer is the Mountain Ski over the stock? My trailer is 10' and the Attak just fits in with about 3" to spare.

I believe they're the same length just wider. I can check though and post up tomorrow for you.

I have an 06 Attack and I run the Stud Boy Duece Bars on my Yami mtn ski and love them. Over 6000 miles on them and they're still in great shape. The mtn ski has as deeper keel vs. the stock ski as well.

I just traded for a practically brand new set of Yammi Mnt skis from my neighbor. I am psyched! They came off of his Phazer Mnt Lite, so I have ordered all new mounting hardware for these bad boys, which should be in this week. They do have blue handles, which won't really match my skis, so I will most likely put my old ski handles on them. They had brand new Roetin 8" Carbides (150 miles est.). I will shim them 1/4 " in the back and install them on my Attak. SWEET!!!!!!!
