Having done all my own maintenance on my 04 Warrior through the years, I'm looking at this new Apex and wondering what is the best way to get at the Oil Filter on this beast? The Warrior is a REAL pain to get at! Remove Air Box, Battery and bracket and then you have access to the Oil Filter! Now before I start digging into this new Apex who has done it? THANKS

I've done it lets see...OVer a dozen times. Its never fun and there is no easy way. I think ulmer racing makes a kit that moves it to the front. Thats the way they should of made them from the factory. It usually takes me about 3 hours from start to finish making sure I don't drop any bolts or allen wrenchs down the sled. I take my time. I gotta remove the skid plate as well.

After you get the headlight pod off it is exactly like the Warrior.

No need to remove windshield, it comes off with the headlight pod. Only two bolts hold pod on, one on each side.

no two hex heds one each side side then slide foreward and up. after you remove the top dash piece it is held in with 1/4 turn allen heads and thats after you take off the chrome ring two phillips head screws.

Panels off
Light pod off
airbox off
battery out
battery bracket out
Oh there it finally is.
Only thing with the ulmer kit is you loose storage space in front. I use a nose bag and it won't fit with this kit. It is a great design though.

Kind of a pain but... it gives you the opportunity to look the sled over for issues (before they become a problem) from the inside out every year.
