APEX PEAK HP@ 10700 RPM FROM DYNO TECH

Just looked at Dyno Tech's websight and it shows the Apex 148hp @ 10700rpm. The manual shows 10500+/- 200rpm. Bender shows 10100rpm.I'm wondering why the difference and what is accurate? The manual is in line with Dyno Tech's numbers. Any ideas? If 10700 is target, with the new primary reduction, were going to have fun on this SCREAMING DEMON.

The 150 FI was designed, developed, tested and calibrated at 150HP @10,500. That is from the dyno the engine was developed on, so most accurate. On a dyno engine torque character can be affected by coolant temp, engine oil temp, measuring speed and exhaust cooling condition.
Of course your more then welcome to clutch it at whatever rpm works best for YOU.

Bender's was a prototype, so you can throw that information out. You can run this thing from anywhere between 10,200 and 10,600 and get the same results, according to all my testing. It has a nice wide powerband!

Those numbers might have been from the other day when they were doing the tune up exhaust with excells exhaust,as that is what they had for corrected hp and at that rpm,he stated the hp was low due to the air temp and RAD they had at test time,this seems to be accurate as allen stated that he has seen the full production machines make better hp at higher rpms than what the protos made at 10,100 so if the new motor makes power at 10,500 it more than likly is clutched for that from yamaha.

those numbers sound about in line with what I've seen so far. 10500 engine rpms works out to about 8600 clutch rpms. I guess the little running I've seen so far, the power doesn't just drop at 8600 clutch rpms either.
