apex55 said:Might be me, but I can't find the kit for $200 for the apex. $299?bix96 said:Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, going 2" higher over stock on my XTX seat. If you are 6"2" (me as well), you may want to think about that. Right now on ebay, you can get the full WRP 2" kit for about $200. When you get used to your legs being in more of an attack position, it is really hard to ever go back to the old sit-down style. Right now my XTX feels like old school sit-down compared to my Turbo Cat.
Did you do anything else to your XTX to make it ride better? Seriously considering the Star mod over the Summer as well. Come next season, I want it already set up and just want to ride. I spent more time wrenching on my Turbo cat this last season than riding, but that is another story. Most of that was self inflicted as I went a bit crazy on mods and updates. I love Yamaha, but not so drunk on the Blue Koolaide that I cannot see the benefits of other & more modern designs. With all that being said, I bought a New XTX at the end of this season. A proven design and awesome motor that just simply works!
The sale is over.

So how tall is everyone here. I'm 5'10" and I figure a 2 inch rise is good for me plus I don't want the bars above the windshield. Got the bolts but the MTN riser is back ordered till the end of April....

I'm 5'11" and I had the lake effect 3.5" pivot plus the 6" straight to replace the existing stock setup. tried it for one trip in the U.P, and it still wasn't tall enough for me. I just ordered a 8" to put on the pivot riser from Chris at Lake effect. Great guy, and great quality. I feel this plus the WRP taller seat will help in the ditches, power lines, and worn out trails at night. I am riding a 2011 FYI

Is there a 2" extension that works with the stock riser or do you have to do a whole new setup?

Got the MTN riser on today and the seat showed up also. Riser looks totally factory and feel just about right for me.

I want to liven this thread up if possible. I want to shop for an adjustable riser at Haydays Saturday. Who makes and adjustable that I can put on my XTX? I still have my Powermadd pivot, but would like to be able to drop it for groomer cruising and raise it for ditches and powder.
Also, I see Muffin Works has some clearance items in the classifieds. Did they stop making risers? As that section of their site is empty.
Thanks guys!
PS: If any riser companies will be at Haydays, post up what kind of a deal I may find with a mit full of cash Saturday!

From what I have seen, both Rox and Fly make one. The Rox riser comes with the quick adjust bars standard now, and the Fly you need to use a wrench. The rox risers are actually available as an actual Yamaha accessory part. Of course the SRP is higher.
These seem to be all over Ebay, so at least I have a baseline price. I will watch at Haydays for options. From what I am seeing, I need to have the pivot base installed to utilize the Rox riser. Good thing I kept my Powermadd Pivot. That adds enough rise, I just want to be able to adjust on the fly.
Thanks.

So I had a chance to speak to the Rox reps at Haydays Saturday. Looks like I have to put my pivot on the base as a stem for their adjustable riser. But, they say I will lose the chrome ring. For anyone that has the Rox installed, did you lose your chrome ring? I would think, if I could place the two riser dogbones close enough together, I could still use the chrome ring.
I may have to wait till I get mine out of storage and explore my options a bit more.
It was funny at Rox speed as they had their manufacturer booth over on the new side, and they had a "seconds" booth over in the swap selling risers with slight factory flaws for a nice discount. I thought that was pretty cool.
