I need some setup advice for an RTX. I have an APEX GT and have done all the fixes to it. My buddy just bought a 2008 RTX and we need to do the same.

Are the same tricks valid: shim the skis, Stud Boy Doolies, pull the limiter strap one hole, 13 mm sway bar, lower the front end?

We already put the 13mm bar in. What air pressure in the Fox flaots?

Just trying to help a buddy..

If you want it to rail corners, run the floats at around 45-50 psi. Level the a-arms out. And run snowtrackers! The handling is AWESOME compared to stock or any shimming etc.. I tried all different carbides and shims. These are the real deal! I left the limiter at stock with these too, transfer 3/4 - full.

i run my shocks @ 45 psi and it corners pretty good w/ not alot of ski lift as w/ highr pressure. imo

RTX SETUP

THANKS FOR THE INPUT.

Ont the transfer issue, how are they set? As I said I have a GT and Iam familiar with it but the RTX has a different setup.

Ok, here's my stupid question of the day... Being new to the Apex RTX myself, is there a sticky somewhere outlining HOW to adjust the limiter and other suspension components? About all I know how to do is adjust the Fox floats! haha..

I'm about 195lbs, 6'0, and want to be able to lightly drift around the corners. Right now, I can't get my #*$&@ end to drift around a corner to save my life! I'm assuming most of the weight is back... I am coming off an old light Yamaha Phazer where you could throw the #*$&@ around pretty easily, and I'd like to get my Apex a little closer to that riding style.

Thanks alot guys!!!

So i have an 07 RTX witch is the same as 08.... Proaction skid...

My set-up.... 200lbs gear on...

-limiter strap in stock location....
-torsion springs on med setting...
-in front of your rear axle... there are 2 transfer rods with 2 silver nuts with a white plastic washer on them... crack these free and thread towards ground. these are your "transfer limiters" per say... these adjust how much your suspension with "sqwat" in the back...
-adjust air pressure so that control arms are level with ground.

with this setup you can lift front end no prob... I like when your skis get alittle floaty under hard excel.

sorry for the lamen terms... i have 9200 miles on this setup and love it...

I had my shocks redone by Pioneer and still cant seem to get it to ride well. The sled seems to be so finicky when it comes to changing snow conditions at all. I feel like it is still to stiff on small stutter bumps, but the bottoming is much better. GOod luck with yours I am still messing with mine but considering a GT suspension swap. I wanted to try the shock revalve first, but its not alot better.

07 RTX here. Same thing, I just had my shocks done at Pioneer and i didnt notice much of a difference, not compared to what I read. Biggest improvement was kickback. I just installed snowtracker extremes and they do work very good. Still have to be off the gas when ridding aggrssively in the corners and no way will the #*$&@ end drift around. Wish it would.

I bought this sled used so I dont know which hole is stock location for the front limiter strap.

Transfer rods, I have a hard time decifering what people use for measurements when adjusting the transfer rods.

the transfer rods have lines/groves in them.... count the lines.... thread the nuts up or down to adjust transfer....

set up

I have a 08 rtx it corners like a rail on corners. Woodys duelies on stock skis 6 in carbides A arms level to slightly down rear torsion springs on soft rear shock also soft you must lift the rear of the sled off the :4STroke: :4STroke: ground to set this shock if you dont you can go to soft and it will coil on you. the rebound on the rear shock set at 12 clicks from max transfer rod in the middle, limit straps pulled up one hole. I am 5ft 4 in 190 lds with gear. any questins call me Stuart at 920-810-4430 :yam:

SHIMS

I HAD A FRIEND MAKE UP SOME ALUMINUM WEDGES TO MATCH THE SHAPE OF THE SKI RUBBER WITH A 1/4 TAPER THEN MACHINED THE SKI TO FIT THE BOLT IN. WORK FINE AND DOES NOT DESTROY THE RUBBER LIKE THE BERGRSTOM SHIMS DO.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS I LOST MY READING GLASSES.
