Apex SE or Apex XTX

Good point guys! I think I found a deal for a STD one. I cant believe I overlooked it. I asked Chris from the BLOG his opinion on my situation and he also suggested the std, since I'm trying to save money. looking for a smooth ride and not sure about the updates on the XTX. I reread all the articles and think the std one is for me.

TTT & what (if any) changes were done to the '12 XTX to fix hyfax wear?
Did pulling up the limiter strap fix the wear issue issue w/out putting too much weight on the skis?
Who has tried Pilots & what were the results?

I ride groomed trails & will likely moving from Maine to NH (Gonna miss Milinocket to The County - ouch). Pretty sure I'll be doing an XTX but may consider a base model as well.

update:
I made a deal and bought a 2011 Std Apex from Mcgregors in Bobcaygeon Ontario. It was his sales rep's demo sled. Should be picking it up next week. I cant wait for snow.
Thanks everyone for your advice. I will let you know how it compares to my Attak. I ended up thinking the SE would require alot of fiddling with the shocks and I'm more the kind of guy to set it and leave it. I was afraid of the XTX as it went through some updates for 2012.
