I just did this conversion....
went with a apex mountain seat, a RSI 5 inch riser with mount which is 3/4 inch so a total of 5 3/4 rise with a RSI 800 mm race bars with bar ends
I bought all the new cables and brake lines from yamaha... all from a 2003 rx1 mountain... bought brake line, throttle cable ,parking brake cable, choke cable
It wasnt cheap i have approx 150 in cables and another 150 or so in the bars probally closer to 400-450 by the time grips ,handguards, new htd elements etc....
you'll love the fit with the new apex seat and bars
Im 5'8" and it fits me perfect being a agressive trail rider
hope that helps

You will likely get various responses from different members.
However,I did the same on my 04 warrior and put a 2" Rox Pivot Riser... That's about the most I figure I could get out of the stock cables. MAYBE if they were re-routed you could get another inch, but that would be pushing it. That's what I found anyway.

I put 3.5" risers on my Warrior and the only cable I had to buy was the mountain throttle cable. I was able to reroute the others and make them work with no problems!!!
Yeah 2" max on throttle and the rest start to get funky at over 3.5" I just put a 6" rise on my 05 and had to change all -brake line, parking brake, choke & throttle. While I was at it I cut all the wires and moved the coneectors down under the hood like the apex and got rid of the foam pad and cover.
I can now change from the the 6" to a 3" riser in less than 3 mins. depending on the riding i am doing that day.
