I need to get my seat at least 2 solid inches taller to help with my seating position.
Currently, and with my previous Vector, my knees seem too high and the following day after a big ride the upper front of my legs above the knees really ache.
Any ideas? Boss seats are not an option as I understand they quit making them for the Apex. Plus, I have a 40th and want to keep that colour/trim combination.

Bring your Apex seat in to a good leather upholsterer. Lots of guys have done this mod. Have them switch out the foam for a tad higher and certainly more dense foam that won't compress when you sit on it.

Depending on how handy or brave you are... you can do it yourself... I had a similar issue, sore knees as I like to move from standing to sitting alot. I took the cover off of my seat and added 2" on top and I also cut foam from the bottom front and relaced with higher density... replace cover, restaple and enjoy new seating position... do a search, I believe it has been covered in more detail before...

K, I took my seat into what appears top be a very knowledgeable upholstery shop. Came highly recommended, and saw lots of Harely seats there he is "raising" as well.
The owner says 2" inches would be the most he can get out of it, and that it should make all the difference in the world. We'll see...I'll keep ya's posted!

For a trail cruiser I'd reupholster the stock seat to add a little height, but mainly to add firmer foam that will not compress. On my Attak, my Boss seat isn't much taller than the stock seat was, but it is very firm, so it is more comfy and much better ergonomics. IMHO squishy seats you sink into make for great couches, but not good snowmobile seats.
The Skinz seat is great for off trail or in applications where your transitioning from sitting to standing all the time. But It is very hard and narrrow, like a MX seat, making it not the best trail seat. Don't get me wrong, it is a very cool seat, but not for trail riding, as it was never intended for trail riding anyways, rather for off trail/ mountain ridng.

I added two 4x6" pieces of plywood under the seat to raise it in addition to extra foam. the higher the better on my knees. Just install a spacer under the two rear tabs holding the gas tank down, this gives extra room for the two tabs that side under it.
