I know this topic has been around but can anyone tell me the link to the instructions for doing the Apex seat mod on the RX1?
How about a "Sticky" for this mod.
Also, a friend told me that the 2010 Apex seat is a little wider on the top then prior years, True?

rcp1018, I installed a seat from an 06 mtn vector on my 04 warrior. the mtn seat is the harder foam. I did not go with the apex mtn because yamaha started going with the sixteen inch track and i didn't know if they changed the tunnels for that reason. Apex seats will fit from 06 to 10 not sure of '11. apex re and gt sleds had soft seats and first year rtx seats were soft, but i believe they went to harder foam after that year. rs nytro seats will fit up to 07 the last year of thst sled and they are hard foam. I am on the fence as to which seat is better ,because i have an 07 attack with the soft seat and i really like the comfort on long rides at tug hill n.y.

Most Apex seats are softer than the '06 Nytro seat I put on my sled. I prefer a harder seat for my 250+lbs rider weight. I have heard the mountain seats were harder than the other Apex's but I dont know what exactly the difference is.

When you put a Apex seat on a RX1, you have to change the wire ends of the tail/brake light loom. The plugs are different from the RX1 and the Apex. If you use the Apex tail light you wont have to worry about the tail light but you will have to change it at the front of the seat.
Are the 2010 Apex seats wider ( at any point ) then the 06 - 09 Apex's?
