Apex seat mod on RX1, Vector or original Nytro tank cover?

When doing the apex seat mod on an '05 RX1, has anyone used an 06 07 Vector or 06 07 Nytro tank cover instead of cutting the RX1 Tank cover? Visually they appear to be shorter than the RX1 Cover, and look like they would fit without any cutting. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It would fit perfectly. I used my 06 nytro as the template for the measurements when I trimmed my '04 warrior cover.

Unless the color of the tank covers is the same or you are planning on painting, I would just cut the exitsting tank cover. I have done this twice and cutting is sooo easy and takes about 10 minutes. Both times I used some leftover windshield trim on the bottom where I cut and looks perfect.

There are plenty of instructions on here aon how to measure to get a perfect fit.

Yeah you can use windshield trim or I used the door edge protectors from pep boys

Those are stock 05 bars the rest is all off an 07 attack 6" riser and trim ring I had to change over to mountain cables to get the length to make it work.

I used door edge protector from pep bouys to finish the trim to the tank cover hole.

just ordered a 07 nytro seat ,,,just trying to figure out what i want to do with the bars and riser,,,im 6-4 i have a 2 inch roxx pivot now with stock 05 bars ..sled is a rx-1 ..and its border line,,,now when i do new seat set up,im sure i need to go more,,,was thinking of trying a straighter type bar ,apex, ntyro bar,,,,any one have any good riser bar set ups for 6-4 rx1 rider....thanks,,,,,,,,,pics??

Just be carefull you cannot use apex bars with their handwarmers on the RX you have to change them out because the electrics won't support them and you will burn out the controls. I had 07 bars on my 03 RApeX only because I stuffed a stroked Apex motor and all 07 electronics in that sled.

so what options are there,,,that was going to be my next question,, the hand warmers........am i stuck with the rx1 style bar to keep hand warmers? any thoughts?

well if it is any consolation at least the RX hand warmers...... got warm! with the apex you have to buy the yamaheaters.

The bars look goofy but if you go to apex bars you lose the lift of the riser cause they don't have the tall rise in the bars.
