apex seat mod /tankbag ?

OK did the apex seat mod on my 04 warrior with lots of support from this forum,now realize my old yamaha tank bag fits like poop! does anyone got a fix {bring to trim shop to cut/ resew ?or do I have to buy one for an apex or just jam my camera and everything into my new found seat trunk storage?

I don't think the new Apex style tank bag will fit very well either. The shape of the tanks are very different.

04 warrior, I have the same sled and modification. If you have the tank bag with removable map section try tucking the part of the tank bag that is supposed to be on top of the seat ,between the seat and tank cover. This worked for me,i just had to loosen the straps abit to get the clips to fit .

I managed to get one snap on each side of the main piece to snap on the tunnel. Then line Elton Buss indicated, I put the tank bag on upside down. I did that before the seat mod.

I have this on 2 RX1's going on 6 years now and thousends of combined miles with no issues.

It seems just as good as the Apex set up on my Apex. That model just uses a velcro strip where the RX1 snaps were.

Quick fix

I had the same problem. My tank bag uses velcro to attach to the tunnel.
After the seat mod the velcro on the end of the bag did not reach the velcro on the tunnel. I went online (eBay) and purchased some black Cordura waterproof fabric and some 4" wide velcro. I then designed an extension piece for both sides. If you need some pic's I'll send them later, sled's in the trailer right now.

cut some off tankbag had rehemmed happy with fit and look know 10 bucks to have sewn fits much better now and fits on original snaps and was real easy to do
