If you are going to spend that much money you should talk to the guys at Hygear. I'm looking at them now and think I will be picking mine up at the snow show coming up in a couple of weeks.

i found some on e bay for 600$$ can brand new
do theses float 2 have a bad rap or am im gonna be
happey happey happey ?

No they are good shocks! I just have been doing some comparing and for me I would go a different way and to be able to have a little more adjustability and a different
type of ride.
Plus I would hate to blow out an air chamber and have nothing for a shock.

I have floats on a attack 2007 and a mega float in rear and really like the ride. for groomed trails with up to 1 foot bumps or for studder bumps they are very comfortable. I even put floats on my 2011 apex xtx with hygear reservoir's. bought the floats on ebay for 240 for the pair. watch ebay for good used ones.

Last fall hygear told me to buy the factory gytr clickers for my 12 XTX. Said they work well and when it's time to change valving or springs they really have something to work with then.

I have been looking for a set since last April and haven't found a set yet!
I'm going to revalve my stock shocks for this season see what that does and if that doesn't do it I'll go with a set of HyGear shocks all they way around. Ah, if I only had more money, I could go faster, jump higher and ride a little better! Let alone install a tubo and buy another sled for out west!

well i got them, fox floats for front and mega float for rear . they will look sweet on my sled.

oh yeah i also ordered brass bushings
new flap and a few other stuff .

so the mega float is crap u say ? i guess ill find out

Im using a mega float and overall i am happy with it.
I am 240 fully dressed and i ride my apex pretty hard.
It does require some occasional fooling with.
By that i mean that it is sensitive to temperature.
the air pressure in the shock changes relative to outside temps.
I think the general rule of thumb is that for every 10 degree change in temperature, you will lose or gain 1 psi pressure.
So you set the shock up in your 60 degree garage then go ride it at 0 degrees out and it dropped 6 lbs air pressure between the garage and the trail.
This might not seem like a big deal but i find that pressure changes are very noticable with this shock.

I normally set mine at 180 lbs after it sat outside all night and is good and cold. Then i just ride it till i notice it is feeling a little soft. At that point i just hook up the pump and check it out/fill it up.
I have been using mine for 2complete seasons now (about 4000miles)and usually adjust it 1-2times a season. Not really a big deal for me but i can see where some people like to set it and forget it.

My 1 and only gripe with the shock is that i ripped the schrader valve out of it once, which was the only time it ever let me down. After a completely miserable 50 mile ride back home with no rear suspension and the track rubbing against the tunnel protectors the whole way, i now carry a spare schrader valve and 3/8 deep socket to change it with. (Just incase)
