I just purchased a new 07 Apex GT. I have read different posts that talk about factory skis not being very good. Is there anything you can do to the factory skis to make them work better? If not which skis and skegs would be the ones that I should buy to make this thing work the best?

Thanks for the info guys! A couple more questions. What do the aftermarket skis do that is different from the factory ones. Do they push less, dart less, or is it something else? What length do you recommend for carbides if the track is not studded?

The C&A Razors are a great choice for your machine for semi-aggressive to aggressive riders. You can also try the Slydog Trails if you are looking for something a little easier to steer than the razor.

one more benefit to the simmons..
Sprayers that mount to the inside can be had...work great at adding snow spray to the hyfax

The stock skies work fantastic with the right runner. I don't know the make but their is a topic on them on this post. They sell for $169.99 can. I have usi shark fine tripple threat skies with 6 inch shapper bars on my two 07 rtx and they are worth every penny plus. Only complaint is steering effort is a bit hard. Hope this helps.

Those who were at the 07 January TY ride saw what shimming the stock ski and adding Bergstrom Triplepoints will do. I rode 1 day with stock ski and no shim. It darted like a Brahma bull!! That evening I replaced the stock bars with the Triple's, and shimmed the rear of the ski 1/4".Next day, NO DARTING!! Ran over 100 mph and could drive 1 handed! Lot's of opinions about what you can do, but I KNOW this works. I later changed to Slydog Powderhounds for the added flotation. This ski does everything well. Good trail manners and excellent offtrail. This is on an Attak. They really float the fronttend up and allow you to SEE where you are going. The stock ski's sunk badly and spprayed a LOT of snow over the hood. Hope this helps you !!

Bergstrom Triplepoint. I call 'em 8", Scott calls 'em 24". I ran these aprox. 1500 miles last year and they still have a nice sharp edge on 'em!! If you call Scott and ask what he recommends, he'll set you up.

I shimmed stock ski's with Bergstrom good and ugly last year and it helped darting. I am trying 6" shaper bars this year for more bite in the corners. If anyone has tried shaper bars with shim, let me know how it worked out.
