I am wondering what the difference is between the apex and the attak? i just bought a 2006 attak and other than the 136 i dont notice any other differences?

I believe the gearing is a little different and the clutch/s use a different spring. I don't think you'll need to change anything though, if I remember correctly most of the shorty Apex riders were putting Attak gears and springs on thier sleds.

Its pretty well the same sled except the name and few upgrades...in '07 they eliminated the ATTAK name to have 1 4 holer name APEX in short track 121" and APEX L-TX long track 136" a litle less confusing when it comes time to identify the different power plants.

i think the attak has the white spring at 3-3 (60) wrap stock, the apex has a pink spring at 6-1 (70) wrap stock and the gearing on the attax is different, alot of the apex guys are using the white spring with the 3-3 (60) wrap, initially the attak were faster, cause of the 136" foot print, but clutching and gearing have made the apex faster

I was at a local snow show today and they had a brand new 2006 RTX and a new 2006 Attak for sale. 0 miles on both. $7887 I think on them.

WOW! brand new '06 still not sold, I remember 2 years ago our local dealers ran out of new sleds cuz of abundant amount of snow, makes you wonder why YAM wouldn't help out other dealers to move DEAD inventory!

Apex 24/38 gearing all years (except 07-09 Apex RTX 22/38)
Attak 23/38 gearing all years, continues on the 08- Apex LTX
