Actually there are a few changes from the 1st year 06 Attak to the 08 Apex LTX or LTX GT.

The 06 Attak was an AWESOME SLED, but had Handwarmer Issues and the Rear Mono Shock wasn't springed enough and the valving was out a bit. Plus the inner wheels in the skid were DeLaminating as the rubber was peeling off. Plus a Fuel Relay issue that got changed a few times by Yamaha.

The 07 Attak GT was much better with new front and rear shocks with the adjustments for the rear coming off the handle bars instead of the dial on the side of the chassis. The Rear Mono Shock still wasn't enough though as the bigger guys were still bottoming it out, and needed to be re valved and springed.

The 08 Apex LTX GT has the best Rear Mono Shock yet as they finally upgrade the spring and valving and it works perfectly. I have no issues with the Hand Warmers on mine. Then I believe they have lightened them up overall since 06 and they have better wheels since 06.

I really don't think you could go wrong with ANY OF THEM :flag:

I have an '08 and yes they still have HAND WARMER issues, leaking chaincase which is still a problem and LEAKING exhaust donuts replaced at 5000kms...

They have a BEEFED up front pivot arm and like mentioned earlier the rest is all the same, overall their great sleds and all brands have their pros & cons, if you ask me if I like the sled "YES" would I buy another "YES"

This 4 stroke HIGH PERFORMANCE is to die for, so smooth and reliable it makes you forget about all other problems they might have!

Just keep a close eye on your chaincase and have the exhaust DONUTS replaced every 5000kms +/-

My '06 Attak had the handwarmer issue until I put the '07 wiring harness on, and now I can't go past the 3rd bar until it's -10F or colder. The spring deffinately needs upgrading. The first year wasn't bad, but now I can tell the difference.

One more thing to consider is, the '08s and up have less fuel capacity. Some regulation making Yammi put in a double walled tank or something to that effect, causing it to lose about a gallon.
