had a chace to drive a 2006 Vector GT for 5 hrs, coming off my Apex
-no fuel injection,reay miss that
-Vector more comfortable ride
-miss the power of the Apex
-both as quiet
-liter steering on Vector
-better sound on Apex
-easyer to get to cluch on Apex and gaer case
-better MPG on Vector
anyone else have anything to say?

I think the Vector is a little quieter because the 3 cylinder doesnt have the symphony of harmonic resonances that the 4 cylinder has.
And yes the potential of less darting, mass forward/rider forward makes set-up more critical.

I think in many ways the 3 cylinder is Yamahas best 4 stroke sled motor, but obviously it doesnt have the max power potential of the 4 cylinder because it doesnt breathe as well or spin as fast

I think I could be just as happy no matter which one I got stuck with! ;)!
I think the lighter 3 cyl is more geared to my riding style though as sometimes that is too heavy for what I try to do with it and I think the Apex would feel much heavier. I am seriously thinking about an RTX though...

With the comments of the Vector handling being somewhat better, how do you guys think the 08 Vector will handle considering the engine is now in the DB-II chassis?

I think the '08 will be a great handling sled. I think that most of the comments stating that the Vector is a better handling sled than the Apex is refering to the fact that the 120 makes the sled much lighter in the front than the 150 and also it does not use the gear reduction assembly that is needed on the 150. I'm exited about the DBII chassis Vector with the 120 in it! It would be nice if it were a 130 fuelie though.

I hope one ends up at my house! My wife's due for a new sled more than I am. The aniversary edition is the same color scheme as her PZ500 and would match her gear too. I'm working on it already...

I did the same this past Sunday. I took my wife's Vector GT out for a 70 mile jaunt. I liked the fact that it was a quieter engine but I could hear the track more. The Apex riding position is definately much more comfortable to me. The acceleration was very good but Apex still gets the nudge there.
My friend I was riding with had the Polaris 700 with an M-10. The Vector was right there with it.
(Much better gas mileage with the Vector.)
I didn't think the ride was any better but the front did feel slightly lighter. After riding it for that 70 miles I feel as though new 08 Vector with the forward riding position will make it the best overall sled you can buy! Just too bad it didnt get the 130 FI engine!
