I just picked up a brand new 2015 Apex XTX. I feel like I stole it. Got it for a little over $10,000. My question is would it be worth it, in your opinion to put extended warranty on the sled. My main concern is exhaust doughnuts and header pipes. Are these better on the EXUP sleds? I know that can get spendy. Or are there any other issues with these sleds that would make an extended warranty worth it?

IMO, extended warranty is not worth the money. No problem with the exhaust.

To me it's money in the bank! I have had nothing but GOLD with my Y.E.S. You never know, I had a 08 Nytro RTX and all Fox floats replaced as they leaked. Now that the APEX has EPS I would. Just piece of mind. With that said my 2011 XTX hasn’t had an issue but I’m okay with that.

on my 07 i got tons of use out of the yes waranty and it was cheap then when i bought my 2012 i didnt get it because it was a lot more money then it was on the 07 and now 3 years later and almost 8000 miles my sled has not needed any non wear item so im glad i didnt. the exhaust problems seem to be fixed knock on wood. now that i type this it will fall apart lol.

I'd say it depends on the mileage you plan on putting on, if you'll exceed 10,000 miles or get close within the warranty period I'd probably go for it but if you don't ride that much probably not worth it. When I had the doughnuts done on my apex under warranty they had to replace clamps, doughnuts, headers, and maybe some flexpipes. Repair bill was substantial and with that one fix the warranty paid for itself many times over. I've heard the doughnuts are better on the new apex's but they do still wear out eventually and can take the pipes with them.

Just got my 2011 Yamaha Apex back from my dealer about 2 weeks ago, after being there for over 1 month awaiting exhaust parts. Took in it to have new donuts put in under extended YES. A lot of other exhaust parts were needed. The bill would have been over $3,000 according to my dealer. Glad I had the YES warranty.

Hmm. Not the replies I was looking for. I am not a high milage rider. I would say on an average year 2,000 miles. The other factor is I have the tools to fix about anything. But parts can be very spendy. I think I am going to go with the 1year standard warranty. Yamaha has never let me down before. Hopefully they keep it up. Thanks for the replies!
