APEX WEIGHT??

Anyone actually weight there APEX to see how close yamaha was with there guesstimet ??

I haven't weighed the Attak yet, but I can tell you that the moment I sit on it, it's weight will increase by 192 pounds! 8)

I can tell you this, the few Snow Shows I have went to unloading and loading my GT and my 05 ...the GT is really much lighter overall then the 05....you can just feel it dragging them around in the grass.

I cant believe the differnec from my 03 too the 06 I picked the front of the apex up from bumper to chest height fairly easy I can nowhere near do that with the 03 so thats my .02

Just got my Apex GT had to see where it was. On electronic scales accurate to 1/10 lb. with 1/2 gallon of gas no picks just as recieved
it was 592lbs alittle more than I expected from what I've been reading.

I really find your scales weight hard to swallow... Last year they weighed the 04 warrior at 608lbs with 1 gallon of gas full of fluids.. The 05 rx was 15lbs lighter!!

Now the GT basically has no hood.. engine is 7lbs lighter, rear skid is 15lbs lighter than that of a warrior, Battery is 5lbs lighter.. and so on..

I have both sleds side by side... My bicept meter told me the warrioir is way heavier..LOL

You must lift weights to be able to pick up an apex to chest high would be a feat. Even the 06 is not that light.

I agree sled dog.. Im an avid weight lifter and could not lift it that high... You are picking up the bulk of the sled at the front... (its all engine)

Snow Tech weight on the 05 RX1 wet/No Gas was 591 lbs. They didn't say if it was an er or not, I am assuming not. Put a 1/2 gallo of gas in it and that adds about 3 lbs. On the GT the shock setup is probably heavier than last years and it comes standard with reverse. In the end you are probably saving weight in some areas and adding in others. The factory is always quick to tell ya were they saved weight but not were they added.

Snow tech also weighted the Warrior (which Reverse was standard) at 608lbs with one gallon of gas! It has a 136 track and the very heavy suspension with 2 shocks!

I agree the front shocks of the GT are probobly slighty heavier.. but not 30lbs heavier! You still have to figure the GT is only a 121 and the engine weights 7lbs less and the hood is easily half the weight even if you do include the headlight assembly! The brake system on the GT is alot lighter than the one on the Warrior!

crank we know is 2 lbs lighter
hood and no hinges could be 7-9
side panels feel lighter.
headlight pod looks lighter, that is just very thin boxed sheetmetal bracket it is built on.
exhaust goes from twin tube to single.
the efi throttle bodies are so compact they look a lot lighter than the carbs.

heavier items
handle bar riser, a few ounces more.
monoshock prolly up a half pound, rails taller in some places and the 4 reinforcement plates are added.

that pretty much sums up the 11-14 lbs less than 05

If you gained 15 or so pounds over the summer you have essentially gained nothing. :shock:

Well I havent lifted weight in many year and I had no problem lifting the sled....

I guess its back to the gym tommarol.. I have to loose another 20 lbs to make up for what my sled didnt loose..
