Had time today to try my buddys Precision skis on my Apex, they were pretty good in soft snow, good on groomed trails, very little darting, much less than the factory skis. But when the snow got really hard they would pull from side to side, when I hit ice they were very jerky, almost out of control, went down a graveled road and they pulled all over.Maybe the new Pilot 5.7 skis will be better, has anyone tried them yet? I also tred shimming the stock ones, worked great, very little darting, but hard to stear.

Apexfx,

I've put about 350 miles on a set of pilots thus far, certainly the best adjustment I've made to this sled so far, they seem to do do 3 things 1).really enable the sled to rail 2). help stabilize the sled, effectively widening the ski stance..the main keel is off center 3). virtually eliminated darting. They just bolt on without a conversion kit, I even used the stock bolt. Sounds like an infomercial...but they really have worked out well.
