Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing difficulty maintaining a constant tension. I can tell that the chain is loose cause i can feel the slack and hear it if I'm real hard on the gas from a stop. Reverse doesnt line up the greatest at times either. Its decieving to tighten the tensioner because it feels more than figertight but still has much slack, and when i do tighten it, it seems to stretch out again and become slack? I am very careful not to tighten it to much but it just seems to keep stretching?

Any thoughts?

That sound that you are hearing and feeling is most likely coming from your secondary clutch which sometimes can not adjust itself properly if you slam on the brakes quickly at speed and then apply the throttle abruptly.

As far as chain tension is concerned make sure that you rotate the secondary clutch or the track by hand such that all of the slack in the chain is on the tensioner side of the gears before locking in the adjustment.

Some guys (and your operating manual) will say back off a 1/4 turn from finger tight but I have always went with a light finger tight then locked the jam nut. If your jam nut is against the head of the adjustment bolt then your chain has stretched beyond your available adjustment range.

ok thanks im going to recheck today before my ride but it seemed like i couldnt reach that point of satisfaction. Im gonna keep trying though.
