If the steep approach angle means that you have got more track on the ground and/or that you are transfering more weight to the track - for sure better.
If you have got two sleds with exactly the same amount of track on the ground, but one of them has got the skid located two inches more forward, this sled is going to have a much steeper approach angle. This sled is also going to have two inches shorter "wheelbase" which means it will steer quicker around the many 180 degree corners found on the snocross track.
