approach angle

Below is the RTX superimposed over the XTX. Exactly how much difference is there in the approach angle between the two?

I have a 121 rail in my trailer, I'll take it to my dealer and set it next to the XTX on the show room to see the difference

The "approach angle" will be determined by the extension forward of the swing arm mounting point, the radius of the curved section and swing arm length (driver size and drive shaft location is the same). The arc length of the curved section does not factor into to the equation - assuming it's long enough to be adequate for purpose.

Take a protractor with you too and get a number. Nothing kills a thread faster than a little objective data.

??

quick question.
Is the gearing in the chaincase the same on both sleds or different?
I know on the Rx-1 the shorty and the warrior got like 3 toooth different sprockets....
could it be the gearing is just hitting a sweet spot??
o i know....its the lenght of the exhaust pipes....finall answer!! :tg:

I know this is apples and oranges difference but it would be interesting to see the difference in approach angle compared to an artic cat 600 sno pro or even a polaris. I raced all season against these sleds and they were able to attack the rough stuff much better than I. I know that there alot of other contributing factors but I think the approach angle is part of it.

could it b possible to heat and bend the 121 rails to same angle as xtx railsand still b strong?

uh no!

you might be able to cut it back and install an anti stab wheel kit..

The IQ race chassis uses a pretty steep angle of attack. I'm not sure about the Cat. I know what you mean about those sleds ability to go through the bumps. The Cat riders sure look like they were riding with more control than I had when they passed me! :o|
