Hi

I have a buddy who had a yammi clutch machined to fit a skidoo crank for his turbod sled.

Now I'm looking to do the same.
So are all the yammi clutch from different model sleds the same like, phazer, apex, nytro say anything newer the 07?

Thanks

I always liked the skid-doo primarys because you didn't need any special tools to dissassemble them for service.

The way they come apart you didn't even need a puller for a tear down. You could simply leave the fixed sheav on the machine and take everything else to the bench to work on.

Video did a video on it here: http://www.amsnow.com/Videos%20Photos/V ... stall.aspx

Would love to put a Yamaha clutch on my XP!!!!

Reasons I don't like my Skidoo clutch:
1. Runs crazy hot all the time
2. There are many TRA skidoo clutches VS one yamaha clutch
3. The TRA7 is NOT splined so you have to take it all the way off to adjust it, the two halves are pressed together. Which I could see a problem on turbo applications.
4. Weighs a lot more than a yamaha clutch (kinda ironic)
5. Likes to collect belt dust, have cleaned mine out 3 times in 1000 miles
6. Rollers do not last as long as any yamaha clutch I have had, or half the other parts inside the clutch
7. If you don't have the right tools they suck to work on... like those button holders.

Things I do like about it
1. Clickers can be very helpful for a fast tune. Maybe not perfect but it works.

I never realized how nice Yamaha clutches are until I got a doo. I think they are built proof compared to a doo clutch, I have a Viper with 11,000 miles on the clutch with just basic bushing replacement at 10,000. If I get 4,000 miles out of my skidoo clutch I think it would be in the record books.
