Has anybody tried to achieve the effect of the articulating riser with some aftermarket bar.

I did the 3" articulating riser on my 05 RX1. Works great, but you can not see the speedometer. I was thinking that the same rider forward effect could be achieved with different bars. That would keep the mounting point down so that the speedometer could still be seen.

Any info on experiences wit this would be appreciated. I am starting on a 03 RX1 project for my daughter.

I think your best option would be to relocate the speedometer to the rider side of the handlebars or maybe mount it directly to the top of the bars like the new Phazers.

I've seen some posts here that someone has invested in the "Wildchild" (I think that's what it's called) steering relocation kit which moves the steering post forward of the gas tank cowling and the speedometer is relocated to the empty space/hole where the stock bars were.

Do a search and see if you can find it.

Contact ChrisRX-1.

He has a relocation plate that will raise the pod a few inches. Either that or grow a few more inches - I don't have that problem? ha ha

Kinda like this??

Kinda, I would like to keep the windshield. Last year 3" height and rotated forward worked well with the stock 05 shorty seat height for my daughter. I would like to raise the seat 4" for myself. Is it possible to keep the windshield if you reroute the steering column forward?

I have a set of Alum. dirt bike bars with a YZF450 bend, on 5" Mountain Machine Piviting risers, can put them anywhere you want without the huge cost of the articulators.

Only problem with going that way is you over-center your steering and it gets kinda weird feeling and you still can't see your gauges. You can do rider forward for about oh................$2 in steel and a couple hours of time! Not sure I would do it for my daughter though!

P.S. Not sure about keeping your windshield?

How high of a rise can you go with out changing brake lines and such? I like that rider FWD could you PM me directions and such ??
thanks a ton

My setup looks high, but remember the stock bars are like ape hangers. With the 5" risers, and the 450 bars, it is only about 2" higher, but it allowed me to mover the bars where I needed them.

I am by no means tall (5'10") and I can see the gauges sitting down.

Yes i am 6,2 and I cant seem to get my bars high enugh!! What brand bars are those ? and did you need to get brake and throtal ext.?

I know what you mean. I'm 6'6" and I have had excellent results with the Powermadd pivot and a 2" block (3.25" total rise) The stock cables should work, as I installed Mountain cables and they run long with the setup.

Of course I have no problem seeing the dream meter over my handlebar mods though.

No extensions for my set up, but if you went longer I think you would need a throttle extension, or a throttle cable for a RX-1 MTN (2005)

I think you could get a few more out of the brake line

Stock 05 seat, which was the thickest of the RX sleds
