I have had Frostbites set up for 2 years on a shorty and love it. That combined with a stuffed seat makes it ride like the REV I had but without the knee and shin damage. Throw in a wide front end and the sled rails. I made a bracket to raise the inst. pod up a few inches as well to see it. Just 1/8" UHMW Polyethylene and it has held up great.

RedRX1, how about a picture of your gauge pod riser. Mine is nothing but a distant memory anymore.
I like that idea or of mounting it right into the handle bar foam like I had my EGTs on my MSRX.

How do you like you risers? i did the same for one year and had the same issue as ride blue, last year I went to the wild-child relocation and it is day and night especially when riding aggressively in steep terrain.

I rode today with the bars just like in the pictures without problems.
The powder was 3 feet deep.
I would like to try a wild child kit but I haven't yet.
Is the wild child kit a bolt on kit or is some welding required?

It is a bolt on kit takes one evning and about 3 beer to install, nothing to it.
I always felt like having a goat by the horns and sidehilling with the bars moving in a arc instead of a smooth turn is a pain. Like I said I did use the simillar set up for 1 season but there is no comparison once it is done right.
With less forward tilt and rise as on yours it may not be as mch of a issue I used a 5.5" riser and had the bars exactly at the same spot as the Apex.
If you go all the way the controle you gain is incredible.

Does anybody have any good pics of their wild child setup? Is it compatible with the stock headlight cowl? I just couldnt bring myself to remove my headlights completely.

I did the Wildchild Rider Forward set up, although I don't have the greatest pictures here is what I have.
You can use the stock headlight but here is what you should know.
1. If you want to use/see your speedo and guages they must be relocated to where the steering column used to be but you can leave it alone if you want. A metal plate must be made and the wiring harness must be modified and those wires that feed speedo split from the headlight harness, not too tough. Then the speedo wires must be run to the new location, I actually had to splice in some wire to make it long enough, not ideal but it worked.
2. The gas tank cowling must be ground out where it meets the hood, not too tough and it looks fine.
3. The worst part in my book was having to cut down my windshield, how you guys ride without one at all is unbelievable to me. I rode in 0 - +5 degree weather and froze my butt off. You can see by my picture that after trimming down the windshield now all the air is directed right at my chest and face. I can't find a way around this.
4. It is a great setup and I really like it. The instructions are good and all the parts you need come with it. Wildchild has done a great job making it as painless as possible.

Frosty, I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but it is the best I have. Sled is not with me right now. In both pictures my Vector Mtn is the sled in back, obvious in one but not so obvious in the other due to the snow but it will let you see the comparison angle and placement. The front sled is a 06 Apex Mtn. Hope this helps. YaMon

From my understanding the Wildchild kit excells in the steep. What about us guys who ride lakes and trails with the odd mole hill? Is the Wildchild still a noticeable improvement in handling????

Depends if you like rider forward ? Works best with a taler seat that way it puts you in controll.
