I am interested in buying an 07 Attack but I hear they push in corners. I am interested to hear from Attack owners - Have you experienced this issue?

Thats what you get for listening to the shorty 2-smoke owners. Set it up right and it'll rail.

I heard that too and how the heavy 4stroke makes it so. But I just got mine a month ago and it handles very sweet..
No pushing in corners. Actually it steers awsome. I was surprised..how responsive it is. I've run it in frozen snow to slush conditions.

Pushing is usually the result of the owner not taking the time to set the suspension up properly. As with any sled, you should figure your first day of riding after purchasing will be spent adjusting the suspension for your riding style. A lot of "non-owners" have this idea that 136" skids push too much and aren't good on the trails. This is hogwash. The one thing not to overlook though is the skis. Sometimes a good pair of aftermarket skis can make all the difference, after you have the suspension set up.
get a set of bergstrom triples and set your suspension and it will rail

I have 1800 miles this season on mine. 400 with the stock skiis and the rest with Slydog Powderhounds. Once I changed the factory carbides out with Bergstrom 8" Triplepoints, Skisavers and shim, sled carved and did not dart. Yes, a 136" is MARGINALLy harder to turn in TIGHT TIGHT twisty turns. Proper setup, and you will be amazed. My Viper is stretched, with 7" C@A Pro skiis, and stock motor and clutching. Could run in the woods with all the 121": that I ride with. Do they handle like a REV? Nope. But they will not run away from you. Purchase an Attak and you won't regret it

I ride with all new revs in our group. I can,t corner like a shortie but i can definately take the corners better then a renegade.

Yes it does push,i dont care how much you set it up,it will never rail like a shortie,i had an 06 attak, and midway thru the season after 1200 miles of testing differant skis carbides shocks, sway bars studs, transfer ,you name it and it will not handle or even ride like a 121 set up well,i swapped out my track and skid for a shortie out of the 06 rtx and wow what a differance, but i dont ride like your normal 50 year old,i ride more like a very agressive 21 year old snow crosser, thats the crowd i hang with so it just stands to reason i need to stay out front!!snomobubl said:I am interested in buying an 07 Attack but I hear they push in corners. I didn't notice any pushing into the corner but it give one hell of a push out.

What mnmsnowbeast said. There is a noticeable difference between the long track and a shortie. If you like to throw the sled around in the corners and slide the rear end, you will have trouble doing that with a long track. Depends on what you want and your riding style.

- None, looking now!
I love my long track. I will never have another shorty again. Matter-of-fact, I am taking my 07 Attak out to 144" I can stay with any shorty out there. I can slide my sled right around ANY corner.
Once you get used to the longer track, you won't even notice it anymore and you'll take the corners.

Totally agree. My riding buddy rides a ProXr, and we are very aggressive riders. My going to 136" has not given him the ability to outrun me on the trails. You can do just about anything (haven't found one thing I can't yet) with the 136" that you can with a 121", plus it rides better. I can kick the back end around just as I did with the shorter skid. It's all about ski pressure, etc. Think about it....136 - 128 = 8", so that's maybe an extra 4" contacting the snow? Now maybe if you're running the max # of studs in the longer track you prob won't be able to throw it around.
Don't let the added length scare you. There are more guys that say they will never go back to a 121" than there are who say they don't like it.
had 121 GT & 136 Attak at same time. Sold the GT, what does that tell ya?
Only time the 136 seems to push is in fresh powder, other wise 136 rides better & hooks up quicker in lake / trail situations.

There are truly too many variables from one rider to the next when it comes to set up and riding style. IMO, if somebody spends too much time on setup, you'll end up chasing your tail. I think you should not try to get the setup right during your first day of riding, instead, make the major adjustments (spring tension/ride height and compression) during your first ride, and then take your time to get the best feel for the sled, and then start making fine adjustments. Race teams don't get it right the first time, they test, and test, and test.
You'll definately love the sled, no matter which track lenght you buy. Yamaha's are an addiction. Once you try it you'll have a hard time stopping!

The standard Attak, when ridden hard, does offer some pushing into and out of corners. In my opinion, this is not really related to track length since the same type of pushing can also be found in the shorter Apex.
I have found that the pushing into the corners is related to the excessive initial body roll and to the skis that does not grip in soft trail conditions. I have also found that the pushing out of the corners is related to the weight transfer on acceleration.
Get a set of front shocks that are set up for better steering response (limiting the initial body roll) and also a set of skis that grip in soft trail conditions. Then you will have no pushing into the corners. Adjust your control rod for less-than-standard weight transfer, then you will have no pushing out of the corners.
