Anybody have this happen? I know the first mono had problems. I removed skid as instructed on TY tech page. When I got to the RA, the cable was already disconected from the shock. The only thing still inside the rubber boot was the threaded peice that connects to the shock. What ever held the threaded peice on to the RA cable is gone-must have lost it on the trail I guess. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep, but I did it trying to get the cable off the shock. I pulled on the rubber boot with plyers to try & get it clear of the connector, but pulled the black cable sheath out of the connector. Since the connector is crimped onto the black plastic sheath, it was junk. It's $11 for a new one.

Yup we just replaced the one on my rtx,the cable looked like it was connected, but once we had the skid out,and looked things over,we found it was broke, you could pull the steel cable right thru the rubber boot, yammi dealer got 40 bucks for the boot and cable that were connected togeather.

Yeh, just ordered a new cable (13.00) and should be covered under warranty.

If the rubber boot protector os OK will the cable go through it without a problem? I noticed that you can order the BOOT, the cable or the whole assembly (boot and cable). Would you happen to have the part #?

This was an issue on the 2005 RX-1 tons also. In fact i was just getting ready to pull the shock on my buddies to send it out and saw his was also flapping in the breeze. Mine is ok still.

I'm not sure what the part number is. Just had dealer order cable-my boot was fine.

Mine broke last season and I took it to the dealer to repair under warranty, they replaced the cable and installed another piece to keep it from happening again. They called it a Yamaha update.

:yam:

Man....after looking at the RA cable when mounted it sure is tight in there. Why wouldn't they lengthen the RA cable a bit? It looks to me as if it's under alot of pull.
