I don't think you will be happy in the long run. You will find it needs more spring and dampening. It bottoms hard even in the REV. Yamaha is carrying way more weight. Let us know what you think when you get it out on the trail.

It is the same set up as the 1000 gade with the X package (very close in weight) and there is one set of springs that is stiffer if we need them.

I have 6000 miles on a SC-4 and I'm not to sure about hard bottoming you are talking about and I'm no light weight :bash:

I think we'll both be happy 1500. I switched to yami last year with 10 years riding ski-dookies prior. I couldnt believe how bad the 03 rx1 rear suspension performed. As for the bottoming issue knapp was talking about, all skids bottom out, I would rather bottom out on the doo skid, not the yamaha "buck". My dad called my sled a "log wagon" lol My back will thank me and yours!!! think snow!!

I'm sure your switch to the SC Doo suspension will be better. But, you really can't compare the 03 RX1 suspension to the mono on the Attak that he did the conversion on. I do not think he will see the improvement you will.

Is yours an Attak GT. Those are the only ones that will blow the rear shock aren't they. I've never heard of any regular shocks going bad. I did crack a rail on mine, with 7500 miles. Yamaha went good for it, even though the warranty was gone. Besides that, I'm very happy with the mono suspension.

It is not a GT and it has 8250 miles on it 2 blown shocks and 2 sets of broken rails, (they were welded after the first time). Yamaha is going good for it no issues there just time for a change. ;)! If we don't like it we can put the Mono back in, it will be new again.

What fun is it to be just like everyone else????

Yea another reason i went with the doo skid, I never broke any of my sc10s throughout the years. Im still a little leary of the yamaha skids, mainly the durability issues they seem to have. Its good that yamaha stands behind there product, but can they replace the time it cost you to get your sled fixed??
