3500 miles on my sled and the small plastic buttons the helix runs on are SHOT. Wore mostly through. After seeing this I believe the roller clutch is mandatory. Question: Who has tried one and what results did you recieve? I had a Bender on my old SXr and had good luck with it but it was not a 4 cyl 4 stroke. Thanks ! ;)!

That is very unusual.I would just put new buttons in.
If you are going to go roller I would go with advantage or the new roller ulmer is testing contact ulmer racing they deal advantage stuff also.

If you go to a roller look into the Lightning Pro roller. It is a very simple design where they use a roller ring to replace the buttons and you are still able to run the stock helix if you choose. They are also very reasonably priced, I believe the cost is $250. Best thing is that they are located in Traverse City so you could drop it off.

Lightning Pro is good...but you have machining and shipping both ways....then you have no stock clutch to go with the machine if you sell..by the time you loose it with the sled and or buy another it gets very expensive..

I couldnt believe how well the hcx roller ran....some of my friends run them now as well...

The Advant-Edge unit is very nice and well thought out. The only down fall is the price of the helixes and it can become expensive and tough if you don't buy the correct helix the first time!

I would encourage you to take a look at the new Supreme Tool Tuner secondary if you get a chance. It's is expensive, but can be transferred to any sled and uses inexpensive Cat helixes.
