Attak windshield

I swapped my stocker for a med. ht. on my '06 Attak. The med. ht. is better but only marginally so. The med. ht. elimiates the blast on the chest & it slightly deflects the wind over the hands. It is definately a worthwhile purchase IMO. If you can tolerate the support brackets, the tall windsheild would be even better.

The stock windshield is of the LOW variety. I'm quite tall so I went for the extra-tall for canadian touring - if they ever open the trails in Algoma??? :o|

The extra-tall windshield requires bracing rods which I'm told allow for installation of Phazer style mirrors) It may also keep the brights out of the trees too??? Should make a nice package.

While Yamaha calls the stock Attak window medium, it is not the same as the accessory medium shields. I put the black fade medium on my 07 Attak right away before riding( I hate cold, so I'm a pussy). The accessory windshield is slightly taller and has more flair to keep your hands warmer.

what a timely post!! I was at my dealer last week to order a mid for my rtx. I noticed there was a part # on the sticker on the film on the 07 attack windshield they had on the floor. When I had the parts guy look it up, sure enough it is the windshield part # and is different from any of the numbers in the cat. My dealer said what the heck I will order both in and we can see the diff. What are the plusses and minuses of the attack vs the med windows? They are both in and I need to pick out one tonight!!

The accessory "medium" shield is taller than stock and does a better job of wind protection. Worth the investment and looks good. The tall and x-tall need goofy looking support rods.
