I am looking for advise on suspension tunning when riding in powder. I ride logging roads, offtrail in deep powder, hilly terrain. I am interested in understanding the basics of limiter strap and skid dynamics all in realtionship with the front also. I do understand somewhat but find my sled is hard steering at slow speeds and looking to have confidece that I am set up before i throw parts at it. I did do a google search for some info but no luck which surprised me.

A lot of the suspension set up has to do rider weight. I let my limiter straps out almost all the way. Fact is I am going to move them to the last hole, just haven't done it yet. The front end will want to lift more as the strapss are loosened. I run my springs as tight as possible and just installed the X-Clicker to get it stiffer. I also built a set of anti-bottoming rollers. If I know I am going to not be on any trails I take the torsion bar off the front end this way you can compress each ski individually for easier sidehilling. With the stock front shocks this turns the sled into a pig on the trails though. I read on here somewhere that some guys have put floats on the front end and eliminated the roll characteristics that become real evident with the torsion bar out. I have found alot of suspension tuning is trial and error, trying to find what suits you and your riding style and performance expectations. There are some pretty sharp guys on this site and I am sure they will ahve some good advice as well.
