just remove the white tube that is pushed in to the top of the fuel tank and reroute the gas tank vent tube up into the handle bar pad this will give more fuel. just dont do fill it all the way if you are going to let the sled sit. fill and go
Mikey
While I have not personally experienced a problem, some of the residents have warned of "calling ahead" before leaving SSM to make sure fuel is there. It's probably a good suggestion.
Impala and I made it over 162 miles last year on a tank, still had a little fuel left. Get a small can like a 2.5 gallon or less and strap it on, then see how far you can go. We rode over 40 miles with the light on and the last bar showing on gauge. I also carry one of those siphon hose in my trunk bag, the kind you dont have to suck on, never had to use it. dont let the light and gauge scare you. When it was on and you stopped for fuel how much did you put in? I would guess 7.5 to 8 gallons, that would leave 2 to 2.5 gallons, leaving you 35 to 40 miles plus of additional miles before really empty.
Thanks MikeB, I had one of those ordered thru local parts store, took 3 months and got one for a quad. I have been looking on the net, but no luck, I lost 2 gallons with the turbo and there is no gas stations in the mountains. Going to order direct from the manf. thanks again
Thanks for the info Indy, I guess I don't have the testosterone to continue driving with the low fuel light on - for 40 miles! I like the tanks from the site MikeB provided & I'm ordering one.
