My son and I are doing a couple of new Apex turbos. I noticed a fair bit of wear on my drivers last year at 12psi so figured I would just do the drivers this time as we are thinking of trying a little more boost. Avid has 2 drivers listed, they are both 3 pitch/7 tooth but I think one is CNC and the other moulded. Looking at the pics on their site the only difference I can see is the price difference of about $75 a pair. Anyone know whether either type is good or if the CNC ones are stonger or what the difference is?

I have the C&C'd ones and they are much better than the moulded ones. The molded ones are basically Whal bros drivers. I have heard many of people have problems with these 2nd to them not being true. The C&C's ones are very true. I ran them on my turbo all last year w/o any problems.

Drivers

The non-CNC'ed ones are low quality IMO. They are made by Wahl. I trashed a set of Wahl's last year @ 12#. I thought I was getting Avid brand drivers when I ordered from them last month. They are Wahl drivers with the WPS sticker still on them. Spend the extra cash and get the CNC'ed drivers or maybe check into getting the Ski-Doo brand drivers. There is a sticky on the top of this forum.

Sounds like I better get the CNC ones. We're doing a couple right now and plan on going a little higher than 12 this season so don't want any drivers failing. Thanks guys.

The CNC ones are the ones that are a harder composite (White). The black ones that are molded have a softer plastic that is put in to make it more maluable to be molded. The CNC ones have a longer hub and double banded. Hope this helps.
