Have an 06 Attak, when running 45 mph or higher and let off the throttle fast, I have a LOUD back fire. This just started. No exhaust leaks, runs great.
If I let off slow, I get a little puff like back fire. Anything slower than 45 mph, no problem.
It is cool though when I go past someone thats beside the trail and let off the throttle.
Any help would be helpfull.

Mine did the exact same thing. I had a cracked Y pipe. But, I could hear it was louder under the gas tank and by plugging the exhaust pipe it would still happily idle. Maybe something for you to check out...
This sounds like the doughnuts are gone in the exaust. IMO

My son's 08 Nytro had the same symtoms, backfire when he let off the trottle fast. No leaks or any other issues. Ran great otherwise. Under warranty it went to the dealer where then found the exhaust donuts were shot, problem solved.

Mine started backfiring this past weekend and came on fast and strong. Donuts were fine but left exhaust pipe broken at flange. Bad part, pipes are on backorder from Yamaha till March.
