Backfiring ?

I'm sure this topic has been answered numerous times but ......when riding my Apex lately i have noticed if u get on the throttle half way hard and let off fast it will pop sometimes and backfire is that a sign of bad exhaust doughnuts? Also if u slam the brake say rounding a corner and the engine comes to a fast stop it will backfire too, just noticed it doin this the last couple rides....ne ideas? ....sorry if this is a another annoying repeat question

Yup...tell-tale sign of bad exhaust donuts. Exactly what was happening to my '07 Attak when my donuts went bad at 2,300 miles. Mine were covered under YES warranty, along with having to have the left Y pipe replaced. Bring to the dealer and have them fix it on Yamaha's dime. If you dont have a warranty to cover..then do a search as there are plenty posts about doing the repair.

Yep, bad donuts and or y pipes. My 06 Attak started doing the same thing last year around 3700 miles and all 4 donuts were shot as well as both Y pipes
