Last season while riding the trails in Munising...I was flying down trail 7 wide open when I felt the engine start to lag. Didn't know what was going on so I pulled over. Since I have the original 1.25 Ripsaw still on the sled, there were a couple rubber pieces breaking off and I thought the track may have been delaminating and slowing me down. I limped the sled back into town, but seemed to run kind of hit and miss on one cylinder. When I left the sled sit for a moment, I fired the sled up to load in the trailer....now it really sounded bad.
Didn't know what it could be and with racing starting up, I left the sled sit in the corner of my shop till the 1st of November. Tried new plugs....nope, still missed, backfired and sounded bad. Did a leak down and everything was good there. Bought another coil for the spark plug from Barn Of Parts, still got the same thing. Took my temp gun and it seemed to be #2, not the worst, but down on temps...... Hmmmm, found some injectors from a Nytro that had 300 miles on it and it ran great, so I got them. It was either the fuel injectors or I had a valve spring problem.
Last night, started tearing into the sled to change injectors. This took about an hour and a half and the sled runs perfect once again!
Some tips if you decide to change injectors....
1 - Remove the seat and plastic to get to the gas tank.
2 - Remove the gas tank.
3 - Cut the 3 plastic zip ties holding the wires on the fuel rail
4 - remove the clips from the injectors and vaccum hose sensors
5 - unbolt radiator fan (4 bolts) and unplug fan
6 - Remove 2 screws that hold the vaccum hose sensor bracket
7 - Remove the 2 screws that hold the fuel rail
Pop out fuel injector, install o-ring and seal on new injector and put back together in reverse order.

What type of fuel do you run? Ethanol can ruin injectors pretty darn quick.

how can ethanol ruin injectors? I thought its more of a solvent than reg gas.

I ran 87 pretty much it's whole life except for the last few trips I ran premium. 87 did have 10% ethanol
