- 2009 Yamaha Nytro XTX with Impulse Turbo
I have a 2009 XTX with an impulse turbo installed. I haven't been able to get the sled to fire up this year at all. There are no fault codes showing. In diagnostic mode it fires all the spark plugs, I can hear each one of the injectors pulse, and the pump relay is working. When I remove the spark plugs they are bone dry so I am suspicious that it is not getting enough fuel. I have a pressure gauge installed and it shows 46 psi but the pressure falls off as soon as the power is shut off. Is this normal for it to not hold pressure on the system and is it possible to have an air lock keeping fuel from reaching the injectors?

I'm not real familliar with the nytro system but usually there's a regulator to hold pressure and sustain pressure when running. Usually around that 45-50 mark.
Just looked it up in the service manual and spec is 46psi but it doesn't say anything about a regulator in it.

The fuel pressure regulator is an add on installed by the builder along with different injectors. I have found out since my original post that I have no spark when I check it cranking the engine with the starter. I had checked the ignition on each individual cylinder through the diagnostics which will fire each cylinder the appropriate five times but with the plugs removed and grounded there is no spark and I don't believe the injectors are being pulsed either. I thought perhaps the crank sensor may be at fault but no code 12 is present until I unplug the sensor then it sets a code 12. It appears to me that the crank sensor is working. Still looking for any and all insight that anyone has. Thanks

Check your relays (especially load control) for corrosion. Perhaps upgrade them to the new red solid state ones.
