I just loaded my sled for a day of riding tomorrow, and I noticed that my inner idler wheels by the center shock are warped again! I first noticed that they were badly warped and dented at 100 miles. I removed the wheels and my dealer provided some "improved" apex wheels (with rubber). I have put an additional 430 miles on the new wheels and I noticed that the rubber was peeling off. The rubber is peeling due to the fact that the wheels are warped, causing the wheel to contact the track driver lugs. I am still riding tomorrow, but I will be worried about the wheels.

This skid puts alot of pressure on the front of the rail, as made evedent by the slider wear pattern. The amount of pressure is too great for these new stlye thin wheels. This thing needs some old stlye heavy duty wheels (shaft machining required). :o| :o| :o|

I wasn't going to say anything until my 500 mile checkup scheduled for next Monday. But, I had the FX on the lift for slidders @ under 300 miles this weekend and noticed the #18's (Apex replacements with the rubber) are tweaked again. Not nearly as bad as the first time @ 100 miles, but on their way.

Crazy, Yamaha quality...before someone gets on here and gives me the you had your track to tight rebut. The dealership was the one @ 100 miles that replaced the 18's and tensioned the track per specifications. What should I have to go behind every tech?

I absolute enjoy the seating position, engine and suspension...but this pig has more lift time than any of my REVs combined. A ditch banger, huh... :o|

After all I have read about this issue I have been waiting on that this should happen to my fx to but it havent. Are you studded? Have asked a friend of me who work as a mechanic at my yamaha dealer but he had not heard anything about this either.
