No no he's willing to do the job no problem, he said he's just iffy about putting in the other subframe that I already have (since it's not brand new). I can see his point about not wanting to put used parts on it, but if he doesn't i'll find somebody who will.09nytro said:Well I understand if you cant do the job not saying anything bad about that (if you lived closer I would do it for you or help you replace it) but what I cant fig out is why the dealer would turn away work if that was my service man. he would be down the road

Bent subframe - your in great shape since you already have one that's reinforced or you still need to reinforce the gussett.
Dealer should have no issue putting it in. Mine wanted 4 hours labor. Grizztracks has the gussett kit if you second frame is not alreday reinforced. Be sure to do that first.

Ok !!!got it now......wished I lived closer I would do it no problem......I'm sure the person you bought your sled from got that subframe new then put the gussets in ......never the less I would just put the other one in and be done.....I've been running two years with the gusset kit in with no problems

Me too!!! probably save me a few hundred bucks. I plan to have the other one put in regardless if the dealer does it or not, no sense in buying a new one if I already have a reinforced one.09nytro said:yami123 said:No no he's willing to do the job no problem, he said he's just iffy about putting in the other subframe that I already have (since it's not brand new). Well.....thank god for insurance. Was quoted at 2300 in damage. He said since insurance is covering it that he's going to put a new a-arm and shock on it as well since they might have been tweaked when it happen. I'm almost 90% sure nothing happen to the arms or shock, but i'm glad hes hooking me up. Told him to put as much new #*$&@ on it as possible now. Bad news is there calling for our biggest snow of the year here tomorrow and Tues and it would damn near take a miracle for me to have my sled back before the 40 degree temps hit this weekend. Just my luck

Have him put the sub frame on now and do the a arms and shock after the season is over, it takes very little time to just swap an arm and a shock, that is if your dealer will break up the work like that. It will at least get you back on the trail.

Exactly what I did, subframe is being installed as I type. There calling for 6-10 inches here late tonight into tomorrow night. With the base we already have it should be the best riding of the year down here. Sled will be ready tomorrow afternoon or early wed at the latest.Mazz said:Have him put the sub frame on now and do the a arms and shock after the season is over, it takes very little time to just swap an arm and a shock, that is if your dealer will break up the work like that. I wasn't really going that fast but as most of you probably know getting snagged on one of those will stop you dead in your tracks. Pulled if over to check everything out and noticed the left shock was damn near touching the a-arm. **** ME. I'm guessing the subframe is *****, but hoping that's all. The previous owner gave me gusseted (spelling) subframe with the sled that he had planned to put on the sled but never did. Anyway, I had my buddy come pick me up and hauled it right the the dealer. He said he's not sure if he'll put the other subframe on the sled, assuming thats what's wrong. I don't want to have to buy a new one since I already have one. What do you guys think?
The tracks put a hole in my ski, caught and threw me over the bars, at walking speed.

Same thing happened to me...damn tracks. no damage to ski, but blew out the bottom of the spindle, bent lower a-arm, and of course the dreaded subframe. Just kills me the amount of damage, i couldn't believe it. Insurance claim was $2300, and dealer is fixing all of it. Just have to wait now, hopefully next friday!
