I recently insytalled a 2" ROX handle bar riser and had issues with my Throttle Position Sensor overriding my throttle. I need to change my brake line and install a longer throttle cable. Does anybody have any sugestions or any clue where I can get a longer cable? Thanks for your help.

I installed 2in risers on my sled as well!!
ALL i did was remove the clamp on the brake hose were i connects to the coolant resovor and move it down on the hose and reinstalled the clamp!
Move the throttle in 1/4in. and rotate the handle bars forward as far as it can go!!
I have no binding at all!!

I too have a 2 inch ROX riser on my mountain, all I replaced was the throttle cable - 2000 700 MM part # 8ed-2611-00-00 = $17.13 @ Port Yamaha. Mountain Performance carries the taller bar covers for $39.95.

I since have noticed that even with the 2 in risers it makes it harder to read the speedo and tach!!!
I guess i will just have to stand or sit forward like a rev LOL

I am not interested in the Powermadd extension as I have a buddy who installed it on his machine and the P.O.S. froze up in the cold weather. That would not be fun. I am interested in the longer Mountain Max cable but am wondering if anybody has used it. Is it the exact same cable, just longer. Any mods needed to install? Will it just slip right in and replace the exsisting cable? Thanks for all your help.

It's longer, no modification needed. The only difference is the curve of one end.

I just took my RX to the shop for the updates, and asked if they would check the cables for me. I had installed a 2 inch riser, but when I turned it all the way to the right it would increase the rpms. thought it might be dangerous! They ordered the mountain RX cable, told me it was a little longer than the shorty, and should work perfect. No extensions just a bit longer.
Has anyone measured the length of the three cables that seem to available :?:

I could not find a part number 8ed-2611-00-00 I did however find a 8ed-26311-00-00 for a 2000 Mountain Max 700 and the cable is exactly the same as the RX-1 Mountain cable, same bend and everything. It may work on the RX-1 shorty but not the Mountain.
Mxz9, I have played with all 3 cables on the Rx. The mtn cable is about 3/4" longer than the shortie, and the mm cable is about 2" longer than the mtn cable. The mm cable does not have the same "clip" in end at the throttle block as the Rx cables. As I now have installed a 4" riser and 2" wider bars the mm cable was necessary. I also tweaked the metal end of the cable to get it up off the motor a little more. In doing this, I had to make a cable housing spacer, to keep it all in spec. Tractor Supply was the donor for the pin I cut down to get needed space. BTW I sent all 3 Rx cables to Motoin Pro last year to see if they could make longer cables, and thew answer was no.

Well I found out there is a guy here locally who can make the exact cable you need for about $40.00. I know it's a little steep, but it's a brand new cable to the lenth you want with all the same factory ends it has now. Anybody who might be interested drop me a message and I'll see if I can work a better price in a bulk order.

I installed 2" risers from Sprotech with the advice obtained from this forum. So far I've put 85 miles on my sled without any issues. I'm taller than most riders so I can see my guages too  I do plan on installing a 2" longer throttle cable though for added insurance.
Personally, I think Yamaha should have put both warmer controls on the left side - probably see this on '05 or '06 models
Thanks guys! (gals included) This forum rocks 8)
