Last season i put in a 2" powermadd block riser on my 05 vector and was told that's as high as i can go with stock cables. I was just wondering if any of you out there raised your bars higher, and what you did to do that?
I believe that is as high as you can go. You might be able to get more height by rerouting the brake hose and throttle cable.

yeah i think so too....with stock cables...anyone have experience raising them higher, what cables need to be longer? How do i do that?

Maybe a whole Nytro set up would be good for you? I got rid of my Nytro block and put some FLY 7" risers on my Nytro, didnt need any extra cable.

Yeah i thought of that too....but i have stock handle bars so i think that would be way too tall...unless i get the ENTIRE set up bar, block, and cables....but im not sure if that's interchangeable with my vector

bill-im runnin a powermadd pivot adapter, 6" powermadd block, and some protaper wide bars. i needed to get a mtn throttel cable and a brake hose, and actually had to cut and extend my handgrip warmer wires. here is an approximate price list-
pivot adapter-$60
riser block-$40
bars-$80
throttle cable-$15
brake hose-$75 but mine is a braided line not sure bout rubber pricing
if u plan on goin all out for raising ur bars get rid of yamaha stock bars and go to a set of flat bars or slightly raised. total rise on mine from stock is around 4" taller, measuring from running boards to end of bars
you will also not be able to use stock handlebar pad for aftermarket bars.
nytros r completely different....all wire connections r under the hood where as a vector or rage wire connections for all electronics on bars are above the tank cowling, and also nytro was designed for taller bars, as are most yamahas that are 06 or newer
nytro bars should be interchangable but i gurantee u that it will be twice the price of the same shape of bars from a different company besides yamaha-as usual-
hopefully i answered most of ur questions but just let me know if u need any additional help-

That actually helps out alot.....just a couple more questions.....is it difficult to take all hand guards, throttle, brake, etc. off the stock bars and put them on a new one.....also how did you extend or get a longet brake hose? Did you have to extend both the brake and E brake hoses? one of the guys i ride with just got a mtn throttle cable for his and just putting them side by side they look the same length, should that be?
Thanks

to take off all components on the bars isnt hard at all....basic hand tools. the hardest thing to take off is the handgrips, but with a heat gun or a hair dryer u should be able to pull them off after u drill the rivets out. i ordered a longer brake hose, but it wasnt from yamaha-since they didnt make a braided line when i ordered mine. i didnt extend ebrake hose bcuz it would have been another $100 and didnt feel it was necessary since i strap my sled down when it is in the trialer. the mtn cable will be longer, that i ordered straight from yamaha and it doesnt look longer but it is.
